ARC CAFE
+Picturesque. +Tranquilo. +Sofas. In the shadow of the Carrabassa's endangered twin arches and la Mercé cathedral, the ARC cafe is the best place in the Barrio Gotic to chill with a book or a few friends. Almost always tranquilo, the ARC cafe perfects the long afternoon sit with with a sofa and a bank of padded seats. For breakfast, try the Mueslie in honeyed yogurt with a café con leche. The menú is unique and everchanging; highlights are curried, vegetable cream soup and the rum carrot cake. Fellow diners are likely to be artists in the making taking refuge from their studies at the Elislava School of Design around the corner. Your best bets for meeting one of us from the studio is here, especially early mornings and late nights. Calle Carrabassa, 19 933-025-204 :: Horario: 10am - 2am, Friday and Saturday till 3am.

LA VERONICA
+Nine kinds of Pizza. +Candle-lit obscurity. +Free matches. Walking along Calle D'Avinyó of Picasso's cubisto painted bordeaux ladies, you'll almost certainly be allured by the rectilinear lines of La Veronica's tables and chairs, barely perceptible through the windows.

LAETICIA
+Close. -Closed. Half a block from the studio, colorful, and cozy, one would expect our affections to be firmly set on Laeticia, oh, Laeticia. But good luck catching her in an inviting mood. Save a few evening hours, her doors are shut to all suitors.

MAOZ
Garlic. Garbanos. Alioli. Maoz is the undisputed savior of the late night munchies. Open till the wee hours, this glorified falafel stand boasts mouthwatering ingredients for over-stuffing your freshly toasted pita for gullet stuffing. Be sure to load up on the pickle and garlic combo. It's kind'of a mess navigating the swelling crowds , and then the sticky mess of spilt alioli on the sidewalk. But a good falafel is an overflowing one, and it's the best fix by far for the Americans among us longing for a big, fat pregnant burrito from Illegal Pete's stateside.
